Jesus Fathers us

Jesus gave us 50,  or so, commands to follow, to obey. These commands are one way Jesus loves us like a Father. Yes, Jesus is our brother, but He is also fully God and fully able to rule. A part of His Lordship is His right, privilege and wisdom of instructing His children.

The big payoff for obeying Jesus is eternal life!

The present payoff is not only conformity to His will, but also a life filled with beauty, wisdom and joy. If you are trapped in a life that is shrinking, seek the wisdom of God to move beyond the worlds system and into His kingdom. This move will allow you to escape the demands and judgments of this world, to avoid all our man made regulations for worth, value, significance and success. By living the way Jesus, our creator made us to live, we come alive.

The new birth is not just about spiritual conversion. We are born again into a kingdom not of this world and not centered on earthly things. We become free to love this world, to celebrate the endless beautiful things of earth and not be controlled or enslaved in our delights. Unlike the world in which our loves turn into our Masters, Christians who practice the life God called us to live, can enjoy all the good things of life without being controlled by them.

This enjoyment of the Christ life is not automatic, but it is available.  Start by investigating where you are at. Like turning on the GPS, you can identify where you are at and understand where God might be leading, as you become aware of what items and issues He is desiring you to live out. But remember this is not just about arriving at some destination. God has given you a life to live. His commands are full of wisdom and insight, each one providing us opportunity to live a life filled with joy, beauty and gratitude. You will need to have God reveal to you what adventure lies behind each command. God is personal.

God is full of love. God is good, God is joyful and free from anxiety. Why do we only hear that God is holy and will limit the amount of sin we can enjoy? Sure God will limit and remove sin, but isn't sin it's self something other than good, beautiful and joyous. Hopefully we are not so dark in our understanding that we now call the dark light.

Just like awakening to the singing birds, the rising sun, the fresh morning air; each day in God is full of lessor loves, things made by God for our delight. A few of these are the joy of forgiveness and the security of restored relationships. What others can you find waiting for you, waiting behind a wise command of Jesus Christ.
