Light and darkness both mature, increase, at the end of the age. This is a time of increasing, maturing, development. The question is, is there any light that can shine in the darkness? Where is the light of the world today? Is it hidden? If so what is hiding it?
The Jewish people were some of the first to persecute Christians, then called “the way”. They threw them into prison, killed them, rioted in the streets, protested. Today seldom do you see Jewish people in open revolt against the activity of Christians. Why?
I don’t think we need to fear anything, let alone what is happening in the world right now. We have a God who moves on the chaos and brings life and peace. He does that in the life of an individual and He can do it among the nations. He also lets us become what we set our heart on. Many have set their heart on evil and they are getting the reward of that focus. We don’t need to fear that things are getting worse, we should be looking for an increase in our intimacy and power with God. God knows how to take care of those who are His.
I am trying to live like the end of the age is not the end of life and living. The end of this world is not “when things are over”. I have a whole lot of time to enjoy, laugh, enjoy friends and God. I can take some risk, adventure out, make some sacrifices because I have more than enough time to recover. I can love my enemies because I have more than enough time to enjoy life without enemies. I don’t need a trouble free life now. I have plenty of time for that later.
We overcome evil with good. I hope that I am a part of a people who, should the Lord terry, bring down all false religions by doing good. I don’t want to educate them into another belief, I don’t want to convince them of another way, I want to “good them” into life with Christ Jesus.
Maybe since I have all this time on my hands I will be kind and compassionate to those filled with anger and hate. Maybe I will give away honor to those who are far from God and hate Him. Maybe I will love, with a Godly sacrificial love, those who hate me. I could start in my own neighborhood, but I might start in Egypt.
